Have we met?

It's the strangest thing to look at a picture of someone you've never met and feel that you have met before. Their face seems familiar and you wonder. Wonder if maybe you have met before. That is exactly how I felt when I saw Susan's picture for the first time. I kept going back asking myself, "She looks so familiar, she looks like someone I know." Even stranger, now that we have submitted paperwork I look at her picture and see her differently. I look at her picture and not only feel familiarity but feel a greater love. I guess it just feels more real now that we have submitted paperwork. I don't just look at her picture and feel that it's a possibility, I look at it and feel that she is mine. Is it possible to love someone that you have never met? Absolutely! I felt the same way about our youngest. When we got the call to see if we would take him into our home, even after they read a long list of his medical concerns, I loved him. It is the cheesiest song ever, but I always think of the song, "I knew I loved you before I met you" by Savage Garden. I loved Liam because I knew that love was all he needed. I knew that we could help him and give him a great start to life. I am grateful that not only were we able to give him a good start but we get to give him the life that he deserves. We just recently had the privilege to make him a part of our eternal family. He is a joy and I know that we were led to do foster care because he was meant to be mine. I know now that we have been led to Susan and she is meant to mine too! I love you baby girl! It's happening! It's really happening! We are on our way!

The photo that captured my heart!

  2. I just donated $10. Susan has been "my" special girl for months now, constantly in my prayers. I can't tell you the joy I felt when I read that her family had found her.

God bless your whole family, and bring Susan quickly home.

  4. I just found out that my sister and her son may be able to come to the party! I donated another $20 just in case they can make it.

If Jessica Fields/Jessica Rudder wins (I'm not sure if it will show up under my maiden name or not), and Lillith Bear is present, you can give my prize to her. :D
